Drown Vs. Drone

Rival is going very deep on this upcoming mixtape. In comparison to "The Return" from late last year... Rival often rhymed about the beefs from letsbeef.com, and the Knucks Up Diss was also about a personal beef. Other than the two songs of which received no promotion or recognition. "They we're more like what this mixtape is going to be, BUT doesn't mean I wanted those songs known, those two weren't mixed properly. But the first song on this new mixtape that WILL get promoted is "Drown" and I think this will be a great song for those who want to relate..."

Drown Vs. Drone?
Rival wrote Drone in 2007, the song was about a friend of Rival's that in fact became a rival to Rival, "It was a teenage beef I started talking to the kid that its about like a year later but the friendship that was there before was gone due to the song and its publicity" Rival said the song wasn't meant to blow up as much as it did but everyone agreed that "Drone (Fake Friend)" was a breaking song. With that being said Rival supposes that is was so good because it was all a true story and it just had that relationship building potential because it was true. Now how can that be compared to this new song "Drown"? "Drown is way different, Drone people who had been in the same situation could know what the hell I was rapping about, that's what relating means but everyone knows that. But how many people have dealt with that maybe a lot, I mean no one will ever know for sure how many people have had a friendship turn into a rivalry, Drown is about something I KNOW A LOT OF PEOPLE DEAL WITH" Rival sent out a short bio on the first single from his solo mixtape. "Drown is about credit, like how credit defines life now... Its not measured by success its measured by your credit. If your rich and can pay off credit cards, collections, and loans then you are successful. But what about those people that are paying on a house and a financial crisis would ruin their lives? That's this song"

So with the song now defined Rival will be stepping into the studio this week and recording the next "HIT"... Promotion will start on Thursday the 15th and the song will be released on the 23rd. Then the mixtape is expected to release on August 1st 2010. "I mean I can't promise that day for sure, I mean good music is good but great music is that much better, but I'm hoping we're ready by that date but we'll have to wait and see" - Rival
