Rival has been dropped from Throwback Recordings

On October 20th, 2010 Rival began a text message conversation with his mentor at Throwback Recordings. The conversation led to Rival being dropped from Throwback Recordings. Sunburn, Throwback Recordings owner, said Rival was not Throwback material, it was said that Rival has not been contributing to Sunburn's Throwback Movement,

"I mean I contributed, I really did, With my latest song I contributed.  Dey Sayin' was released as a Throwback Recordings production, just look in iTunes you'll see that.  I sent that song on a CD to Sunburn and he sent it back saying it was "too distorted" that was a gift not a feedback opportunity" - Rival
Rival also has news for fans on the production deal with Dot 10,000... Sunburn and Dot 10,000 are friends, and have been since early in their hip hop careers. Dot discontinued contact with Matrix and Rival, most likely due to the termination of working terms with Throwback Recordings as of October 28th, 2010.

"I feel like I need my fans support right now more than ever, but at Throwback I felt more like a side project for those guys, someone they could show their new tracks to.  I take music seriously but I feel like I wasn't taken seriously at Throwback.  I mean I have respect for Sunburn and his achievements in music, but I felt like an outcast with those guys, always seeing me as a tight rhymer but never as a serious artist.  Stage time is a must in this business, and I never got that with those guys, so i hope to be able to progress forward and if Throwback and my paths cross again maybe we could still do some work on a few projects, but YES I do plan to continue making music, I just need my fans..." - Rival

Dey Sayin'

"Its been a while, so why not drop something really really hot! It's time to make something happen!"

With the release of "Dey Sayin'" certainly being Rival's current HIT, Rival continues his mission to capture a glimpse of mainstream. With that being said Rival did create another hit song, but what else has he been up to?

Live Concerts
Rival now has made contact with underground Minneapolis well known rapper Dot 10000, Rival plans to book his first listed live performance at The Rox bar in St. Cloud, MN. Rival and Matrix have been at the Rox before but not before a freestyle session at the club after a concert Dot 10000 had to get these two on board!

Production Line
Dot 10000 made an offer to Rival to produce Rival's next single for the spring album planned to be completed in mid February. Along with the production credit of Matrix's first single, Rival plans to "Kill The Beat". It's just one of those things I gotta do to make the tracks right, Kill it! So I plan to write some really good material for this next project.

YouTube Show
Expanding his fan base is the beginning of Rival's newest promotional quest. A friendly inviting YouTube Show bringing fans into the recording studios with Rival, watch the process in each song... See where the hidden messages are, find the true meaning of each lyric... Viewer Discretion is Advised!

Bet She Didn't Know?

Story
"I mean who says I am not talented? Listen to this before you say I can't make music..." Rival recently recorded over an R&B instrumental, "Bet She Didn't Know" was an exclusive warm-up session to recording a hook on a hip hop track. "So I was just getting ready for the real thing and I started freestyling over this beat now remember I had just downloaded the beat, and within an hour I began posting the track. It was done!" Withing one hour of receiving the beat, Rival dropped the song.

Content
What inspired the song?

Well, that's a tough question I actually had a lot in my head that day, and night. Let say my girl was a part of it of course, but then my little Yamaha was another thought, and so was another woman, Megan Fox...[laughs]

Rival did freestyle the song but the content is so related to his rhyme scheme. "Bet She Didn't Know" is Rival's first true R&B song. Since he began writing more than just Hip-Hop he has now mastered his way of doing R&B on a commercial level.

Publicity
Since the partial release of the song to Rivals official Facebook artist page, close following fans posted responses. But the more successful release was the songs full and final release to all the site Rival is involved with. Soundclick has had the biggest rise, moving from chart position 96,000 to 103 in two days. The song continues its chart move on Soundclick and Reverbnation.
