"I'm the one banging in your car! Give me the right connect and two years you'll regret getting on my bad side." In October 2009 Rival began a six month NO WRITING break from hip hop. He returned in April and began writing again. From that you have hear songs such as: "The Type", "Drop The Tracks", and now the Adversary collaborations "The Assassination", and "Suspect (Feat. Rival)". But what exactly was Rival doing on his time off?
"I spent most of the time working a job and relaxing, it gets tough toggling a job and music especially when you work 8 hours then write or freestyle for 5 hours and then sleep for 8. I started to get worn out and the music wasn't as good" Rival took a break with intentions to return with no problems but some issues did rise during his leave of absence. People started writing and began to make names and while he wasn't paying attention he was dissed three times. So where did he go? That question was still out there... "Obviously I was involved somewhat in music creation, I was usually on Letsbeef battling, and hanging out in the chatroom, and its like nowa days, I've been gone from letsbeef for about 3 months, now I go into the chat room every here and there and people get surprised cause now I'm back writing and recording people on the site act like I'm not doing anything. Understanding that I was only that active on letsbeef cause I wasn't writing, I missed writing though it was like an addiction and I wanted to write everyday still But I saved those inspirations until now and that brings the hits!"
